Trans in Demand team members are out and proud members of the trans community from around the world, bringing their passion and lived experience to everything we do.

At Trans in Demand, a proud member of the Gaybors Group, we are intentional about who we partner with. We conduct thorough due diligence to ensure that the agencies and brands we work with are not only inclusive in their messaging, but are actively supporting and uplifting LGBTQ+ individuals and other marginalized communities.

We ask thoughtful questions, expect accountability and are prepared to decline opportunities when a brand’s actions or values do not align with our own or with the communities we serve.

Our commitment extends beyond partnership decisions. We actively invest in the gayborhoods and communities we are part of, contributing to their sustainability and growth with our Gaybors Fund. We also encourage others, especially those who have long benefited from LGBTQ+ consumers, to take meaningful steps toward reinvestment and genuine support.

For us, this is not performative. It is a reflection of who we are, what we value and the kind of impact we choose to make.

tiq milan

trans in demand united states: NATIONAL DIRECTOR

Tiq Milan is a transgender cultural strategist, author, and award-winning storyteller whose work sits at the intersection of identity, power, and narrative. As National Director of Trans In Demand, he brings two decades of cultural leadership to the work of building a roster of trans creators, entertainers, tastemakers, and storytellers who are not just reflecting culture — they are shaping it.

His TED Talk, A Queer Vision of Love and Marriage, has surpassed 3 million views. He has performed with The Moth across 24 cities in the United States and twice in London, and has keynoted at Harvard, Stanford, and Brown. A former GLAAD National Spokesperson, Tiq has been featured in Netflix’s Disclosure and a GAP Global Pride campaign, and sits on the boards of the American LGBTQ Museum, the LGBT Center, and the Trans Genome Project at Mount Sinai.

 

As a journalist and media consultant, Tiq has contributed to BuzzFeed, NBC, and CNN, and has guided inclusive media campaigns with HBO and NBC News — including the rollouts of Suited and The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson. He has moderated conversations at the Toronto Film Festival, the Apollo Theater, NYU, and Princeton. His speaking and workshop brand, Maps Not Monuments, centers equity-driven leadership, authentic storytelling, and the transformative power of trans visibility.

 

Tiq joins Trans In Demand at a pivotal moment — when trans voices are both under fire and more essential than ever. His role as National Director focuses on building the US roster of trans talent and connecting creators with brands, agencies, and events ready to show up with meaning, not just messaging. He believes trans creators don’t need a seat at the table. They need to own the room.

Grassroot nonprofits are the heartbeat of the gayborhood. These smaller organizations do vital, on-the-ground work, yet frequently struggle to access the working capital, grants and program funding needed to sustain their impact—and sometimes even to keep their doors open.

The Gaybors Fund is here to help bridge the gap.
